Stroke Care

We provide in-home care for patients who've had a stroke. We offer services for stroke management, stroke nursing and overall stroke care for stroke victim recovery. It is extremely important for caregivers to recognize the symptoms of a stroke because treatment is most effective when given right away. The risk of brain damage increases with every minute that brain cells are deprived of oxygen during a stroke. Damage to the affected areas of the brain may cause physical disability, emotional instability, speech problems, memory loss, and paralysis. The National Stroke Association reports that every 45 seconds someone in America will experience a stroke. In fact, stroke is the third leading cause of death and the leading cause of adult disability in this country. A stroke, sometimes called a Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA) or “brain attack”, happens when the blood and oxygen flow to the brain are interrupted. Situations are different from one stroke victim to the next. Some will have difficulties eating or swallowing, while others lose the use of their right arm and leg or left arm and leg. Compassionate Care Caregivers will provide supportive care for whatever loss your loved one may have suffered as a result of the stroke. Most importantly, the caregiver has to be trained to watch for signs and symptoms of a reoccurring stroke.
